Post-Sophomore Fellowship

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota offers up to five one-year American Board of Pathology approved Post-Sophomore Fellowships. These fellowships provide medical students with the opportunity, under faculty supervision, to engage in the activities of a first year pathology resident. The program blends the art of diagnosis with state-of-the-art biotechnology in surgical/autopsy pathology, molecular genetics, hematopathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and more. An array of highly skilled faculty, with well defined areas of expertise, provide teaching, guidance and supervision. The fellowship provides an outstanding opportunity to expand your knowledge of pathology in an academic setting rich in research activity. We invite talented medical students who have completed their basic science training at any accredited US medical school to apply.

Trainees receive an annual stipend of $21,000 (effective July 1, 2006). Post-Sophomore Fellows will be responsible for their own Health & Dental Insurance.
